Over the years, ways of fighting wars have been manipulated according to technology. The advancement of technology never stops and thus the military technology needs to be advanced too. Technological development has changed the requirements, criteria, and tools. All the below-mentioned fields are regularly advanced to keep the military equipped.

Weaponry

No war is fought without weapons and equipment. Weaponry technology includes the tools and weapons required in the military. It involves all kinds of small arms and big equipment. Ranging from guns and pistols to submarines, aircraft, artillery, etc. to rockets and bombs. Advancements are made in the tools and new tools and technologies are adopted for better results. However, it is not limited to that. It also deals with biological, chemical, and atomic weapons. Let alone terrorists, even nations are in a race of creating better destructive tools.

Logistical support

The military needs logistic support. Military logistics is the control of the preparation and execution of the development, supply, and support of military powers. Furthermore, it is those military tasks that deal with design, improvement, productivity, structure, and support of the supplies. It included vehicles necessary for the transportation of soldiers and supplies. For instance, trains, trucks, tanks, ships, aircraft, etc. It also looks after the air of offices, circulation, and procurement of the movement.

Communications and Intelligence

This plays a very crucial role in the security forces. Technology in the domain of communication and intelligence enables the security forces to predict attacks, decode coded messages, track and navigate any suspicious activity on land or social media. Furthermore, it helps in remote sensing and espionage. They work on sensors and detectors and restrict any source of destruction before it even comes into play.

Medicine

Technical development in the medical sector will help in the quick recovery of soldiers and will therefore save the lives of many warriors. It helps in surgical innovations, chemical medicines, and techniques. Medical technology can help in making soldiers stronger by improving their muscle power, focus, immunity, and stamina. It can also enable the security forces to undergo routine health checkups to look after their proper physical being.

Negative Impact of Technology in Military

“With the indiscriminate nature of modern military technology (no such thing as a “smart bomb,” it turns out) all wars are wars against civilians, and are therefore inherently immoral. This is true even when a war is considered “just,” because it is fought against a tyrant, against an aggressor, to correct a stolen boundary.”

Howard Zinn

The phrase that every coin has two sides is indeed true. Every action thought or material has a positive and a negative side. It depends on the user which side they wish to enhance and work upon. Technological advancements in the military provide them with extreme power and resources. Nonetheless, soldiers don’t lack bravery or intelligence, and innovation in the hands-on strong and intelligent can either lead to unachievable success or irreparable loss.

Military technology enables the security forces in many ways. It makes them capable of turning the entire politics and system of the country or a coup. If technology makes the military capable of defending their country, then it also makes them capable of destroying the enemy nation. Nations are already discovering the most destructive weapon with utmost dedication to global power. Military technology just adds to it. It does not take long before strong become threatening.

Conclusion

Security forces are a very important part of any nation as it defends them from the enemies and threats. Also, they help the civilians in tough times. They protect their country with utmost love and priority. The military must remain technologically advanced as it keeps the forces strong and equipped in all ways against any kind of threat or attack of violence. There are many ways in which technology contributes to the military. It provides them with the latest and best weapons, tools, and logistical support. Furthermore, it helps them with intelligence, sensing, and communication. Technological advancement in medicine helps the army to stay healthy and strong.

However, there are also many negative influences of technology in the forces as with power comes great responsibility and duty. Somehow, not every individual is capable to remain just and unbiased after the grip on power and thus technology enables the military to act in any way that they want. It is important to maintain the balance.
